While 2016 included a national tour in support of their debut full-length 'PALEBLUEDOT', time as the backing band for Turner Jackson's Red Plastic Cup, and various other collaborations, 2017 promises to be an even bigger year for the band. The project recently found new life as a duo and has a fresh sound they are eager release.
The first release off of Motion Trap’s upcoming full-length, Molecule is the culmination of 18 months of composition, recording, and production. "Molecule is a summer dance track showing a love for throwback analog synths and an attention to melody. The song and the youtube video are exactly the aesthetic we imagined while creating the track even in its earliest stages." The band is currently working on a video for their second single to be released early this summer.
The Hollow has one definitive task on their agenda: to deliver exceptional music that makes people fall in love with rock ’n roll again.
Soft Skulls features Jim McTurnan (vocals, guitar), Tyler Campo (bass, backing vocals), Madison Lucas (drums), and Robin Lucas (guitar, backing vocals).
Soft Skulls made its first live outings in Denver, Colorado during summer 2015, playing the Hi-Dive's annual Garage Fest and the Denver Post's Underground Music Showcase.
Soft Skulls recorded a four song EP between April and August of 2015 with Jamie Hillyer at Module Overload. The tracks were mastered in August 2015 by Dominick Maita (Bryan Ferry, Bronski Beat) at Airshow Mastering in Boulder, CO. The band expects to formally release the EP in 2016, with accompanying radio and press campaigns, and touring to follow.
R.I.Y.L.: King Tuff, Ty Segall, The War on Drugs, Sonic Youth, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Dinosaur Jr, Spoon, Swervedriver, Slowdive, Guided By Voices, TV on the Radio, etc.
With his past projects, Jim McTurnan has provided support for Art Brut, The Black Angels, Cold War Kids, Lou Barlow, and many others. He's also shared festival billing with the Yeah, Yeah, Yeahs, The Walkmen, Phoenix, The Flaming Lips, The Dandy Warhols, and others.
Jim's solo recordings can be streamed at jimmcturnan.bandcamp.com. Cat-A-Tac recordings are on Spotify.
