Within Nathan's freshman year, he came in contact with producer/engineer K.Dawn, founder of 4 Moore Studios. K.Dawn took Nathan under her wing and helped develop his songwriting and vocal skills. By the fall of his sophomore year, Nathan had created a buzz by performing throughout the campus. In just his third year at NIU, Nathan distributed over 500 copies of his first mixtape entitled “The Offseason”. Besides "The Offseason”, Nathan had also recorded a single entitled “Vowels” that has already begun to circulate among college campuses throughout the country. He is now working on his first album due February 14, 2011 entitled "Lights Off".
Nathan is no stranger to the stage either. At the young age of 20, Nathan has done numerous shows including two NIU Apollo appearances as well as opening for artists such as Omarion, Soulja Boy, Trey Songz, and Drake at NIU. With the demanding schedule that NIU football places on Nate, he still finds time to chase his lifelong passion and dream, creating music that the world will hear as well as enjoy. Stay tuned for dates on upcoming album and single releases and also information on performances.
eventually rapping on instrumentals. Once he found his sound, in a relatively short period of time has rose
from the hustles of the street life to gaining notable buzz as a rapper. What stands out about this artist is
how he has been hardened by life, "It is what it is but, I'ma get mine at the end" is what you get when
talking to Ray. Never using it personally, Mary Jane was his hustle in high school. It was just his way of
getting money in his pockets and that's all it ever was. Eventually, he had his run in with the laws which,
landed him in jail. He promised himself when he got out, the game time was over and he was destined to
become a rapper. So, there's no show here, this is all him as you see it. Growing up he idolized Lil'
Wayne, from the Hot Boyz days, since he talked about the life Ray lived. Now, his favorite artist is K.Dot
aka Kendrick Lamar because he talks about the hard streets he lived through and came out on top. From
childhood, he has been a risk taker and showing off to entertain his peers brings that Center of Attention, that Ray is no stranger to.
